      The Bobbi Althoff leaked video, which surfaced online, appears to depict someone bearing a striking resemblance to Althoff engaging in explicit activities. The leak sparked a wave of warnings urging people not to view it, while others voiced concern and called for action to defend the host of “The Really Good Podcast.”

      Earlier this month, it was revealed that Althoff and her husband were ending their four-year marriage. The couple, who have two young daughters, reportedly separated around the same time Drake appeared on her podcast, leading to speculation about their relationship.

      Bobbi Althoff, aged 26, gained prominence on social media for her candid and “dry” interviews with celebrities like Lil Yachty and Keke Palmer. She has amassed over 5 million TikTok followers and 500,000 YouTube subscribers, where she shares her podcast episodes.

      Althoff is just one of the many online personalities who have fallen victim to deepfake po-rn.

      People quickly recalled the Taylor Swift fake AI ad that went viral in January. The ad, promoting Le Creuset, featured a likeness of Swift and a fake version of her voice endorsing the company’s cookware for a giveaway.

      AI expert Marva Bailer noted that although AI may have been used, a human ultimately made the decision to risk their reputation or job by allowing ads without contractual rights for endorsement. The notion of the picture being for “entertainment” or “fun” doesn’t hold in the business and brand world.

      Last year, Tom Hanks took to social media to warn fans about an ad using his name and likeness, emphasizing that he had no involvement in it. Actress Scarlett Johansson planned to take legal action against an AI image-generating app for using her voice and likeness in an ad posted on X.

      Celebrities and individuals whose likeness and voice are used without permission may have legal recourse in the future.

      A proposed “No Fakes Act” released in October aims to establish the federal right to control one’s image and voice, known as the right of publicity, and allows individuals to control digital replicas for 70 years after their death. Penalties include fines and economic damages per violation.
